Did you know that raw veggies and fruit can be a source of dangerous bacteria that will make you sick? These bacteria can be found in the plant’s fertilizer and water, the soil it is growing, and the plant itself.

Of course, infections from veggies and fruit are much less common than infections from animal products. And, the risk to get sick from veggies is much lower BUT STILL there is a risk.

So maybe steaming your favorite raw veggies is not such a bad idea, as all potentially present bacteria are killed by cooking and healthy nutrients in their majority are still in tact. Or do you have other tricks of making your favourite veggies safe and tasty?
