According to a recent German study, older people (@40+) who feel younger than their chronological age, tend to have a better functional health: greater sense of well-being, better brain health, lower stress, less inflammation and even living longer than their older-feeling peers.

Researchers discovered that participants who reported more stress in their lives, experienced a steeper decline in functional health over 3 years. On the other hand, among participants who felt younger than their age, had a weaker link between stress and decline in functional health. Based on these results, the researchers concluded that feeling younger could help protect against the damaging effects of stress. That protective effect seemed to be strongest among the oldest participants.

So, if you want to feel younger than you are, learn to cope with stress! There are plenty of methods for that. Which one is the best is still needed to be investigated.
