In a recent large study the researchers found that people with stroke had faster decline in their brain health and daily functioning up to 10 years before this serious life-threatening medical condition.

To come to this conclusion, the study investigated cognition and daily functioning of 14.712 participants between 1990 and 2016. The researchers found that participants who experienced stroke, had a steeper decline in cognition and daily functioning up to 10 years before stroke diagnosis compared to stroke-free control group.
