A recent Australian study found a link between daily dose of yoghurt and lower blood pressure in hypertensive people (i.o.w. people suffering from high blood pressure 140/90 mmHg and higher).

The researchers explained that dairy foods contain micronutrients, including calcium, magnesium and potassium, which are involved in the regulation of blood pressure. From all dairy products yoghurt stands out because in addition it has bacteria that promote the release of proteins, that lower blood pressure.

The study showed that even small dose of yoghurt every day helped decrease blood pressure by 7 points! Something to consider if you have some issues with your blood pressure, isn’t it?
